The treatment plans are tailored to meet the unique needs, specific goals and strengths of each client we serve. Our client-centered approach focuses in goals you and/or your family wish to achieve to bring harmony into your lives. The therapeutic approaches and interventions utilized in our practice are evidence-based and are modified or compiled depending on the needs of the child/youth to ensure that receives the best treatment to succeed both at home and school.

Each therapist brings individual areas of expertise capturing issues that commonly lead to counselling referrals, such as anxiety, depression, grief, relationships, divorce, parenting, academic performance, children’s mental health, identity, as well as to deal positively with difficult situations and work on emotional issues.

Melanie Candido is a Registered Psychotherapist (qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. She completed her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. She also works as an Instructional Therapist for children and youth with Autism, ADHD, and other exceptionalities. Melanie has achieved a Bachelor of Applied Science in Psychology from the University of Guelph-Humber and a Children’s Mental Health Certificate from Humber College.

Melanie places importance on having clients be the experts of their care, places their needs central in therapy, and aids in guiding them toward goals set together. Melanie strives to create positive change through collaboration and authentic connections with clients.

Drawing from a variety of evidence-based therapeutic practices, Melanie aims to create a safe and inviting environment for all clients of different ages. She focuses on the unique abilities and nature of individuals and builds therapeutic relationships that allow clients to feel comfortable and safe in expressing their needs. She focuses on helping clients with depression, anxiety, ADHD, conflict resolution, life transitions, and stress management in children, adolescents, adults, and families.

Melanie utilizes an integrative approach that allows her to work from various treatment modalities to meet the unique and specific needs of clients. She specifically works within the frame sets of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Client-Centred Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. Kimberly Tome is an intern therapist (MACP Candidate) and Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) practicing under the supervision of Lorena Patrucco, Registered Psychotherapist.

Kimberly is a registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and is currently completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. She also holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Family Social Services from the University of Guelph-Humber.

Kimberly has worked in the mental health field supporting infants (ages 0-6), children, youth, and adults in various settings. These experiences include Infant Mental Health through the Hospital for Sick Children, supporting children and youth with ADHD, ASD, and personality disorders, and supporting adults with psychosis, and other mental health conditions.

With an emphasis on strengths, Kimberly aims to create a safe and supportive environment to facilitate empathetic growth and personal change. Drawing on a client-centred approach, she caters her therapeutic approach to each unique individual. She uses a variety of evidence-based modalities to ensure clients can explore their thoughts, experiences, and stories in a non-judgemental and effective space. Kimberly helps clients with attachment wounds and understanding, attachment parenting, emotional regulation, life transitions, stress, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, interpersonal relationships, and other life difficulties.

Lidya Lopez is a passionate and trained counsellor who brings a vast expertise in working with children, families, and adults in the Mississauga and Brampton Community. Lidya’s practice focuses on helping individuals and families to regain well being in their lives from a holistic approach, individualizing treatment based on their unique needs and circumstances. She values family dynamics and therapeutic relationships with clients and believes that change comes from working together in an open and nonjudgmental space.

Lidya provides therapy to parents, children, and adults presenting with a variety of mental health issues such as mood and anxiety disorder, depression, stress management, ADHD, bullying, social and life skills, and self-harming behaviours. She also supports parents who are struggling to manage their child’s behaviour, parenting training, as well as working with children whose parents are going through a separation. Other specialties include, anger management, bereavement, post-traumatic stress disorder, and workplace stress. Lydia applies a variety of modalities to therapy, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Play and Art Therapy, Strength-based approach among other approaches.

Lidya Lidya received a Bachelor of Art in Psychology in the Hispano-American University in Costa Rica (with Toronto University credential) and she holds an Early Childhood Assistant Diploma from Canadian Business College. She is a member in good standing with the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals (OAMHP).
