The treatment plans are tailored to meet the unique needs, specific goals and strengths of each client we serve. Our client-centered approach focuses in goals you and/or your family wish to achieve to bring harmony into your lives. The therapeutic approaches and interventions utilized in our practice are evidence-based and are modified or compiled depending on the needs of the child/youth to ensure that receives the best treatment to succeed both at home and school.

Each therapist brings individual areas of expertise capturing issues that commonly lead to counselling referrals, such as anxiety, depression, grief, relationships, divorce, parenting, academic performance, children’s mental health, identity, as well as to deal positively with difficult situations and work on emotional issues.

Melanie Candido is a Registered Psychotherapist (qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and completed her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University

Melanie has achieved a Bachelor of Applied Science in Psychology from the University of Guelph-Humber and a Children’s Mental Health Certificate from Humber College. She has experience as an Instructional Therapist and has worked with children and youth with Autism, ADHD, and other exceptionalities.

Melanie continues to broaden her scope and is interested in the treatment of depression, anxiety, ADHD, conflict resolution, life transitions, and stress management in children, adolescents, and adults. Specifically working within the frame sets of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Client-Centred Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy.

Melanie places importance on having clients be the experts of their care, places their needs central in therapy, and aids in guiding them toward goals set together. Melanie strives to create positive change through collaboration and authentic connections with clients.

Drawing from a variety of evidence-based therapeutic practices, Melanie aims to create a safe and inviting environment for all clients of different ages. She focuses on the unique abilities and nature of individuals and builds therapeutic relationships that allow clients to feel comfortable and safe in expressing their needs.

Nicole Henderson is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and completed her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. Nicole also works as an elementary school (primary, junior, and intermediate) teacher. She has a background in education and completed her Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education at Brock University, where she took Brock’s Concurrent Education program. Nicole has experience working with school-age children and adolescents as a teacher.

Nicole is passionate about helping others reach their goals and live a life to the fullest. She cultivates a safe and supportive space for all clients to feel comfortable sharing their stories. Through providing a non-judgmental listening ear, a warm presence, and a positive outlook, Nicole aims to help her clients build on their strengths, heal from their past experiences, and overcome obstacles in life. Nicole’s scope of practice focuses on working with school age children, youth, young adults, and families. She specializes in working with a range of mental health conditions and concerns such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, self-regulation, behaviuoral issues, and socio-emotional issues.

As a believer of collaboration in psychotherapy, Nicole will work with you to develop a comprehensive treatment plan that is aligned with your goals, needs, and aspirations. Nicole views each client as a unique individual; therefore, she is passionate about tailoring sessions to meet each clients’ one-of-a-kind needs and preferences. She prioritizes the therapeutic relationship and the trust between her and her clients and is happy to accommodate requests to enhance treatment.

Nicole implements a holistic approach that emphasizes treating all parts of a person, including their mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health. She is committed to providing care that supports and guides others through their healing journey, and strives to meet the needs of each client she meets.

Meagan Lombardi is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and completed her Undergraduate at the University of Guelph with a focus in Sociology.

Meagan is passionate about supporting youth, families, and adults as they share their stories, navigate challenges, and celebrate their successes. She provides a safe and supportive environment where you can be open and express yourself freely. Through attentive listening, a nonjudgmental outlook and unconditional positive regard she aims to help you build on your innate strengths and capacities, achieve your goals, and live a life that feels most authentic to you.

Meagan provides services from a place of empathetic and trauma-informed awareness. She understands that all individuals and situations are unique and works collaboratively to tailor and develop a plan that will address your specific needs. With patience and understanding Meagan works with you to determine a pace that feels comfortable, empowering you to identify your needs and ensuring the best possible treatment is provided, creating lasting change.

Lorena Patrucco is the Director, Clinical Supervisor and Registered Psychotherapist at Harmony Counselling Services. Lorena has more than 20 years of experience working with children from infancy (infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-age) youth and young adults in clinical and community-based settings, Hospitals, and Learning/Educational Centres and private practice. Lorena is a mindful and empathetic child and youth psychotherapist who strives to understand and support children and families in a safe and non-judgmental space guided by an integrated holistic approach.

Lorena’s scope of practice focuses on working on with children, youth, young adults and families on a wide range of issues including, parenting training, separation anxiety, divorce/separation transition/process, school difficulties (Learning disabilities, ADHD training, behavioural issues), self-esteem, eating disorder, social and communication training, anxiety (generalized, social, performance, OCD), and depression.

Lorena integrates a client-centered approach to counseling and she uses a variety of modalities including Play Therapy, CBT, Art therapy, DBT, Social thinking, Solution focused-therapy, Narrative approach among other interventions. She also has experience working with youth in the LGBTQ+ community, including youth who are gender transitioning.

Lorena is truly passionate to help others and she does it by incorporating a variety of clinical techniques to suit the needs of her clients. In addition to Lorena’s clinical experience, she is also a Part-time Professor in Early Childhood Education at Sheridan College.

Lorena holds a Master of Art in Counseling Psychology in addition to Bachelors of Arts in Educational Psychology, as well as Diploma in Early Childhood Educator and an Early Interventionist-Resource Consultant Certificate. Lorena is a registered Psychotherapist with the College of Psychotherapist of Ontario (CRPO) as well as Member in good standing of the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professional (OAMHP).
